On the 16th June at 9am Cure the NHS will alongside Patient First stage a silent protest outside the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) annual conference.
We will be protesting at the lack of support that the RCN offers it’s members when they try to raise concerns about patient care/safety.
After the Mid Staffs Public Inquiry the RCN made a promise to change and to start supporting staff when they tried to raise concerns. Very little has changed for nurses who try to raise concerns. Many contact us in tears on a regular basis as their union the RCN has not helped them. They tell us their lives are ruined just for trying to help patients and it is not uncommon for them to lose their jobs. It is now time for us the patients to stand side by side showing our support for these brave nurses who should be allowed to Speak out Safely.
